GREED: Privacy
What the game sends, what the email list is, and how to have it deleted. Short, plain, and honest.
What this is
GREED is a game by Körmöci Csaba, Targu Mures, Mures, Romania, contact kormocicsaba00@gmail.com. That is the person responsible for the data described here.
What the game sends, and when
Nothing, unless you say so. The game asks once, before your first run: may it send anonymous run data? A NO, or no answer, sends nothing. You can change it any time in Settings.
- If you say YES to run data: what the game already writes in its playtest log: the events of your runs (Deals offered and taken, Cash Outs, hits, deaths, Alloys, what you buy in the den), the demo's own events (that you started, reached the end, were shown or clicked a link, were shown or answered the survey), the game version, your device kind (for the web: the browser family), the window size, and a random id the game makes up and keeps in its save. It is sent in small batches while you play. It is used to balance the game and to see how many people play and where they stop.
- The survey sends only when you press SEND, and sends only your answers (how fun, what you liked, whether you would play the full game, and one line of text if you wrote it). Pressing SEND is the consent for that one submission, even if you said NO to run data. If you said NO, it is sent under an id made up for that one send, so nothing links it to anything else. Please do not write personal details in the free-text line.
- Never sent: your name, your email address, your IP address (the game does not send it and our server does not store it), files, the browser's user-agent text, or anything outside the game.
- The playtest log is a file on your own device. It leaves your device only if you save and send it yourself.
The email list
The game never asks for, types or stores your email address. If you want news about GREED's releases, a button opens our website, outside the game, where a sign-up form sends the address straight to Kit (kit.com), which keeps the list. That is the only place an address is given, and only if you want to.
- It is a double opt-in: you get a mail with a link to confirm, and you are on the list only after you click it.
- Every mail has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you.
- The list is kept apart from the game's data and is never joined to the random id or to your answers.
- It is used only for news of GREED's releases, and is kept until you unsubscribe.
Who sees the data
The analytics server is Cloudflare Workers (Cloudflare, Inc.); the database is Cloudflare D1, in Western Europe. They process the data for us. Our server code stores no IP address; the hosting provider's own platform logs may hold one for a short time under its own terms. We do not sell the data and do not share it for advertising.
How long it is kept
Run data and survey answers: 24 months, then deleted, or sooner if you ask. The update list: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights and how to ask
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to it. Because the data carries no name, we find it by your random id: open Settings, then ABOUT, and read "Your random id" (shown only if you said YES to run data). Send it to kormocicsaba00@gmail.com and we delete everything under that id.
Survey answers sent under a NO are anonymous and cannot be found again; they can be deleted only if you quote the text you wrote. RESET PROGRESS in the game gives you a new random id; the old data is still deletable by the old id. For the email list, use the unsubscribe link, or write to the same address. If you are in the EU or the UK you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The demo is not meant for children under 13 (16 where the law of your country says so). We do not knowingly collect data from them. A parent who thinks a child has sent data can write to the address above, and it is deleted.
Cookies and local storage
The game has no cookies and no advertising or tracking scripts. The web build stores your save (progress, settings, your answer about run data and the random id) in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB and local storage) so it is still there next time. Nothing else is stored, and clearing the site's data in your browser removes it. The page that hosts the game (itch.io or another) has its own cookies under its own policy.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, the game and this page say so, and a new consent is asked for anything new. Last changed: 6 October 2026.
